With a sturdy body and muscular, no wonder if Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock often gets the role as a hero who is ready to save innocent people from danger.
Well, in his latest film, Rampage, The Rock not only save humans, but also an albino gorilla named George.
George is not a gorilla at random. Since being rescued by Davis Okoye (The Rock) from the hands of poachers, he became so attached to the primate master. Not only that, George has even learned sign language to communicate with Davis Okoye.
Unfortunately Okoye and George's serene life in a disturbed fauna research center. One night, an unidentified object glided from space and landed in George's residence and other animals in a national park.
George Rampage
George, a wolf, and a crocodile accidentally make contact with the strange object that emits the greenish smoke. The next day, George underwent a total change. His body grows rapidly, his behavior is also increasingly aggressive.
A female researcher named Kate Caldwell (Naomie Harris) claims to be able to heal George. But too late, George ran away from the research center.
Meanwhile, two entrepreneurs are crafting a malicious plan to take advantage of George who is raging and destroying Chicago.
Sympathy for George
One of the nice things about Rampage is that the movie is long-winded. The film went straight to the point without exposing the unnecessary.
In the first ten minutes of the movie, the audience was instantly acquainted with the humorous George, and his friendship with Okoye was difficult for people to connect with. It is not difficult to immediately sympathize with the albino gorilla. This also became an important provision in the movie Rampage.
Beyond the fate of George and the visual effects that showcase the destruction of the city, there really is not too much of anything special in this movie. The plot is fairly simple, while the scientific part of the film feels too simplistic.
What is rather disturbing is the dynamics of two antagonistic characters about to be made comical, but the fall is not funny. The side of humor in this film actually managed to show through the character of George.
